International Fellowships at American Association For University Women 2025

American Association For University Women - International Fellowships offers assistance to non-citizens and permanent residents of the United States who wish to pursue full-time graduate or postdoctoral studies in the United States to return home to pursue professional careers. For study abroad, a restricted number of Graduate Women International grants are offered to women members. Support is provided for graduate and postgraduate study at recognized American universities.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants must be female candidates.
• Applicants must identify as international students.
• Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s degree.
• Applicants must return to their home country to pursue a professional career upon completion of their studies.
• Applicants must be proficient in English and confirm proficiency by submitting one of the required components.
• Applicants who are postdoctoral candidates must provide proof of their doctorate and hold a doctorate classified as a research degree.
• Applicants can apply for the fellowship for any year of their program but must be conducting a full year of study or research.

Application process:

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship. The application should include the following components:

• Two recommendations from professors or professional colleagues,
• Proof of highest degree,
• Proof of current enrollment,
• Proof of a doctorate or M.F.A. degree,
• Proof of English proficiency.

• Doctoral: $25,000
