Eligibility for Canon Foundation Research Fellowships:

Applicants Must:

Be highly qualified European or Japanese researchers.
For European Fellows: Plan to pursue research in Japan.
For Japanese Fellows: Plan to pursue research in Europe.
Have obtained at least a Master’s or PhD degree within the last ten years of applying to the Canon Foundation.

Note: Candidates who obtained their qualification more than ten years ago may also apply, provided they submit additional supporting information in their application.

Next Application Deadline: 15 September 2025 for fellowships starting between January and December 2026.

Value of the Fellowship:

The successful candidates are awarded a stipend of up to EUR 30,000 per year.
