Eligibility for individuals who got nominated for the Fraunhofer-Bessel Research Award:

Applicants Must:

Be internationally recognized for their work in applied research.
Have obtained a Ph.D. no more than 18 years ago (exceptions may be made, such as for career breaks).
Have been predominantly living and working outside Germany for at least five years at the time of nomination.
Not have received a previous award from the Humboldt Foundation for their academic work.
Not be in permanent employment in Germany at the time of selection.

Additional Notes:

Female scientists and members of underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
Self-nominations are not permitted, nor can close relatives or marital partners nominate each other.

Value of the Fraunhofer-Bessel Research Award:

Successful applicants will get an award amount of €45,000.
